| no partners | | Another cardiologist trip around my back yard. Six days ago, my GPS told me 802 AEG. I knew that was false, so shaved two hundred feet and called it even. Three days ago, my GPS similarly fibbed, saying I did 877 AEG. Again, I shaved two hundred feet and called it even. Today?
GPS: 1423 AEG
Me: Bullsticks
I looked at the track, and there are eight 100+ foot vertical drops along the track, many of them coming after I recalibrated both the compass and altimiter. What a heaving pile.
Anyway, you go over the same ground dozens of times, and you think you know it all, have seen it all, yet there is always something new. Today, I found at least two "starter mines" I had not previously noticed in the canyon beside the resort. Plus I found a 76-year old BM, that is not on the topo, in a wash just north of Trail 100. Plus, some other cool stuff. So, it was a fun walk. |
