This was my first time on the bike since moving to California. I hope to get more bike time soon! It was fun. We looped back along Bandy Canyon Road, which is paved. Took photos of the falling down, grafittied, one-room school house where my grandmother taught school about 100 years ago. The City of San Diego owns most of this area, and leases to the farmers. They have put up a fence around the school house since last time I was there. I hope they plan to replace the roof, which burned off in the last big fire, (maybe 2007?)
A lot of this trail went along via easements between farm fields. My companion did not like it, but I did. I just like to ride on dirt, but he wanted to ride back on the pavement. This turned out to be fun as well, so I am glad he suggested it. Part of the way the trail follows alongside that same road.
This trail is about 10 miles long, so I will have to go ride the whole thing by myself, and then can write a description for San Pasqual Trail. |
