Beautiful day for a hike in the Superstitions. It was cloudy the whole day but no rain. The cloud cover kept the temperature nice and cool.

We started from the Crosscut Trailhead. Parking lot was just about full but we saw very few people on the trail. Saw a few little streams running from the rain the day before which was really nice. Went up to Praying Hands and wandered around a bit. The views to the North from here were awesome. We also went up to a ridge nearby that looked down into the small valley below. There were a few cairns up here but I'm not sure if there was an actual trail or not. We wanted to see if Massacre Falls was running at all, but I wasn't sure how to get there from where we were.

After wandering around we lost the trail back but we just off-trailed it most of the way back to the trailhead. Crossed a few more streams on the way back and nearly ate it in all the mud several times. :) It's days like this that make me wish I lived closer to the Superstitions.
