Got to the trailhead around 10am and there were a few other cars there, but plenty of parking. It was cloudy and a little windy most of the day.

Starting out you immediately cross the creek, and right away green is everywhere. Green was definitely the theme of this hike. We really were struck by how beautiful this trail was. This is a very lush canyon. The first mile or so of this trail is a narrow path through green grassy meadows, crossing the creek a couple times. Mild elevation gain here. The creek was flowing nicely up to this point. After the first mile the creek dried up. No more water until near the end of the trail, where there were a few standing pools of water here and there. That was a bit disappointing, but the sheer beauty of the trail made up for the lack of water.

Halfway through the trail the elevation gain really picks up with some steep climbs. The last half mile of the trail is especially steep. A lot of long rocky climbs. The end of this trail is a little anti-climactic, but this one is definitely more about the journey than the destination. Coming back down the steep parts towards the top wasn't too fun, with a few very slippery sections.

This is probably the most difficult hike I've done in my short hiking life, and we were all exhausted by the end. My legs were jello on the way down. Really wanted to check out the See Spring Trail on the way back but we were just too tired. Next time. We only saw 2 other people on the trail the whole day. Really didn't expect to have this much solitude.
