Hit the trail in the late afternoon after a long morning of canyon hiking. Good chance to see if my climbing legs still had some stamina left in them. The forest road 152C has definetly seen some recent improvements with a new large parking lot. This trail just keeps on climbing up some pretty sweet geological layers; don't be fooled by the false summits. Of the four main mountains in the area this has the shortest trail with some spectacular views from on top, but I think I liked the views from Wilson and Munds better. Don't forget to circle around a bit and check out the views from the many sides, especially the Red Canyon side.. Unfortunately a recent fire has scorched the top a bit, but it doesn't take much from the experience.
