| no partners | | We started our hike at the Horse Staging area (which added a little bit of distance to the loop). It was cool when we started (8:45am), but warmed up around 11:15am on the way down. We had two black dogs with us and brought 2.5 liters of water exclusively for them. It was enough, but just barely. Had it been a little warmer, I think they would have been very uncomfortable.
The trail was crowded until the Mesquite/Willow junction. It thinned out considerable as we made a right hand turned onto Willow. We practically had the backside of the mountain to ourselves.
Overall, this is a great hike for endurance. It doesn't have a terribly steep grade and the paths are very flat/manageable for the most part (with a few rocky exceptions). |
