| no partners | | It was such a lovely afternoon but I had to go to the dentist first. I had a feeling it would be bad news and it was even worse. So hiking was good therapy to try and not think about where I will be spending part of my summer  and a good deal of my salary. This year sure hasn't been the best medically speaking for me. I know, "whine, whine, whine" - will someone get me some cheese to go with that  (not Julia). As my older cousin says, "It's hard to get old  !"
I didn't expect much from this hike; hadn't done it for quite some time. I ended up pulling out my camera phone; still not doing well with that but you know what they say... practice, practice, practice. The highlights were the beautiful yellow blooms of the palo verde accented by the purple and white of the most lovely ironwood trees capped off by the white and gold of the blooms a top the saguaros. Scattering about were birds and a few rabbits too with a smattering of hikers/bikers here and there.
Oh and the sky was great too but best of all is it felt like a fresh morning hike in the afternoon  . Since we didn't get the wildflower show this year, it's nice that the trees and saguaros are putting out. Tried the HAZ tracks but I forgot to turn off the bluetooth so I think that might have been part of my problem with recording the route plus my battery ran out.
Needless to say, I stopped more than I thot to try and take pics. The zoom kind of sucks though. I am looking at a new camera, Pany ZS40 that is a compact camera of my bigger Pany FZ150. It seems they'll never come out with the FZ250 (I passed on the 200 as I only like to buy new every few years). Anyway, since it's compact  , I can take it always as it will fit in my fanny pack.
I put it together along with the pics for a 5 1/2 minute video. However, when I let the youtube stabilizer do its work, I wasn't pleased but only because the Galaxy Nexus takes the narrower videos and doesn't fill the screen (plus no built in stabilizer like my Pany FZ150). So, I am going to put the Premier stabilizer on the video tonite to see if that makes a difference. I will supply the youtube link I prefer later. |

Wildflowers Observation None
Ironwood and Paloverde in later stages of bloom. Saguaros have their Easter Bonnets and are blooming. |

Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
