I should call this hike …… ’Try Out Some New Boots (and other hike equipment) - MSP’

I started at 124th St, Lost Dog Wash TH and hiked up its namesake, followed by part of the Quartz Trail. Even though today is a holiday (MLK Day), the trails were empty. This out-and-back stroll was just what I needed to try out the new boots and other equipment, including a new protective case for the GPS.
All worked well, so now I’m good-to-go for more adventurous places.

It was also a nice ‘change-of-pace’.
Just a leisurely stroll, with no maps, with no trail finding, no off-trail wandering, no scratched-up arms, no benchmarks to find (or data-sheets to bring), and no long drive.
