| no partners | | My wife and I were looking to take a short trip on Memorial Day. We didn't make our mind up until 23 May, we left on 24 May. We headed to Roosevelt Lake in our 5th wheel - my wife calls it camping...2 TVs, microwave, and a very nice bed...it's not camping. I got up at about 0415 on 25 May and headed to the Fraizer TH, didn't know anything about it. This is actually the Cottonwood Trail #120 trailhead. Very nice parking area, good trail, and I was the only one on the trail. I went about 5 miles one way and returned - very nice morning.
On 26 May I was up early again and headed to the Vineyard trail. Again, good parking, pretty good trail, and I was the only one on the trail. I went about 5 miles in and turned around. Roosevelt Lake was a zoo this weekend. We stayed at the Spring Creek RV Park and it was very quiet with nice facilities and friendly staff. I wasn't able to spend as much time as I would have liked on the trails, but had 2 very nice morning outings. Heard my first rattlesnake of the year - did not see it, was in a large bush next to the trail. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated Like most of AZ, it was very dry. The saguaros were blooming. |
