Charlebois was an interesting sight to find in the middle of the Superstitions. It had a series of about a dozen small pools with loads of trees, thick berry bushes, fallen trees, and even saw tons of cattail around the creek. All within 20 feet of Saguaros and the rest of the Sonoran desert landscape. This is one of the few places that I ran into other people while deep in the Supes. Great place to have lunch and explore a bit, but the thick vegetation impedes that quite a bit. Didn't get many great photos of this place, due to how tight and dense this area is.
If this canyon is your sole destination and whole reason for hiking that day, you might be a tad disappointed. But if this is just a sidetrip on a much larger adventure, you'll be pleasantly suprised by this hidden oasis. |
