Missed my "trailhead" on the way in and drove all the way to Idaho (see GPS route for punchline). The trail goes straight up the hillside at first, then grows a little more faint in places, then you leave it and head generally NE to the peak. I aimed for the top of the ridge and then followed it north to the peak. I saw a huge buck up there and later heard a gunshot nearby so I hope they missed.
On the way back was just looking for the "clearest" path. When I ran into the trail again, I decided I'd go for Swan Peak really quick and headed uphill, then realized it would be dark by the time I got there so I turned around (complete waste of time).
Drove back to Logan for some delicious fajitas. I didn't want to move after that so I crammed myself in the backseat of the CR-V for a night at Walmart. |
