There was no snow though it did snow earlier in the week it was gone by the weekend. The parking was packed and creative parking along the road in was crazy! An unbelievably popular hike but one for the books! Photo opportunities were plentiful and people of all ages with numerous dogs were on the trail.
Trail conditions were great, very easy trail from Lockett Meadow up to Waterline Road and then right along the road up to the meadow of Inner Basin. This road continues on and hits a few other trails, views of the peaks were fantastic and if road conditions allowed during a snowier season, this would be a great view as well.
The single lane road getting into the area is along a cliff side so caution must be taken with blind corners and very narrows areas, passing sometimes impossible!
Overall a fantastic hike with the NAU Hiking Club! |
