| no partners | | We were excited when we heard his trail was open again, and the previouse weeks trip post on here let us know that all was not lost so I was excited about that. We did this trail last year during prime time fall color session. This year we were about a week or so early, but still able to see some colors. There was still a lot of green. As noted by others on here, the canyon held up good to the fire, there is still evidence of the burn, but overall it looks good. the major difference is the creek, the creek bed is think and black.
We arrived at about 8:30 and the parking lot was probably 1/2 full. We did see minimal people on the way in. We turned around aprox 3.5 miles in, around the usual spot. There was a brief rain on our way back, and that was nice. As we got closer to the trailhead, the traffic picked up, the mile before the parking lot, the trail was packed. There was also a line of cars waiting to get in.
I will also note the it was $10 to park, and I swear it was only $6 the last time, butI could be crazy.
I did a go pro video, I started it when we turned around so its all from the way back.
