| no partners | | Great to get back out here! Started about 9am and was pleasantly surprised at the lack of people. There were a few: this is the West Fork trail, but not nearly what I was expecting. I had most stretches of the trail to myself.
Nice and cool when I started as most of the trail was still in the shade. On the way out it got pretty warm once the sun came over the canyon rim.
The water was a bit lower than last time I hiked this trail (a decade ago), and I was able to go about 500 feet farther before the water went to both sides of the canyon. I was also able to cross all of the creek crossings without getting wet, though some were like playing Twister on the rocks. |

Autumn Foliage Observation None Leaves are just starting to turn a lighter shade of green along the trail. After the hike I saw some decent yellows in Flagstaff, but no red anywhere yet. |
