I had a boatload of relatives coming into town starting Sunday...
Too bad it was Peak Fall Season up north... :sl:
Visited with a Cousin I hadn't seen in 40 years and her husband, whom I had never met, on Sunday Night.
Got an Hour and a Half of Sleep and was headed out the Door to get out of Dodge by 3:30 Monday Morning...
Got to West Fork, still in the Dark, at 6:00 A.M. to an open Gate and no one around.
Another Photographer showed up shortly after and I scared the :pk: out of his Rottweiler/German Shepherd Mix by walking by them in the Dark.
The Dog remembered that all Day long, no matter how long Ron and I stood and Chatted throughout the Day...I even gave him a Treat, to no avail...At least I didn't lose my Hand...
I spent the Day Walking, Talking, Hiking, Wading and surprise! Taking Photos...
Went through a Battery on the Camera... :o
It was very Chilly in the Canyon and even with my Canyoneering Shoes and Hydro Socks, my Wet Feet were painfully cold for most of the Morning...
Not nearly as much Red as I was hoping for...See Foliage Report.
Hard to find good Color as a Backdrop for the Creek...Most of it was "Higher" or along the Trail, but not near the Water...
Hiked to the Subway and turned around.
Ran into another Photographer Friend and his Buddy and Hiked the rest of the Way out with them.
From there I drove up to Flagstaff and met another Photographer Friend and fellow HAZer for a few minutes and then hit NiMarcos for Pizza...
Drove to Payson from there...Looking for a Campsite below the Rim so I could hit Horton the next day...
Don't really understand the Forest Service...Shutting all of the Campgrounds so early...As far as I'm concerned, it's still Prime Season up there...
Finally pulled off the Forest Road near See Canyon to Camp...It was very late and I was done...On very little Sleep the night before, Long Day, Lots of Driving...I was toast and finally got my basic gear set up for sleep at 10:00 P.M.
It was a Good Day visiting with Friends on and off throughout....I feel like I already know them better than I do my Cousin.... :sl:
This is a Great Trail, regardless of Time of Year...I will be back...
Got a Few Good Photos... :D :FG:
