This is a popular hike and the lot fills early) and even as late as this, our starting temp in the sun was a warming 37 degrees... so we got moving quickly to keep the blood moving. By around 10:30am the temp raised enough that it was pleasant and enjoyable. We were 2nd group on the trail that day, so we enjoyed the access to the fresh dew and frozen capped puddles that were along the way. There was a mild flow to the creek from, the recent storm and the continuing run-off... which led to easy stream crossings that still provided a wonderful interactive experience with the canyon. There are 13 stream crossings that are easy to manage (we saw some doing them with ease with a child still in the pack). By around noon we were far enough past the end of trail that we decided to set-up a lunch camp and enjoy the views. Temps raised enough to drop a layer of clothing! Overall a great day.
Note: this is a very popular trail... Our lunch had a few visitors and the hike out had us passing many others, including a scout troop. Be prepared to share the trail!
