Took a hiking buddy on this hike today. Perfect weather, perfect day. I was amazed at finding a Crested Saguaro that I must have passed a dozen times and never noticed. I'm convinced that there is no easy way up to the fort. My AEG today was just under 4,000 feet. It is nice to see the area recovering from the fire, but this makes the bushwhacking tougher as the prickly pear reestablishes.
