Return on Sun to finish the drive, the water level had dropped so where the water was running swiftly using the road as a channel it was not as frightening for me. We parked near a tank, finding the rancher mentioned cattle trail and took the elegant and overgrown trail to the bottom of Devil's canyon in about an hour from our car park; it would have been faster if we weren't route finding and I was taking pictures every 2 min. Lots of water down there. While it would have been super to get to the pools it was no way with that amount of water for me. I took pics of a small fall and we stayed sort of high on the old trail. Found pottery shards and chippings-- surprise surprise. Views were fabulous but my pics are not so will have to just remember the scenery. Took some pics also of the small falls that spring up along the main paved highway. I hope this will not be locked off soon. I'm not including this in the usual Devil's canyon trip logs as we took a different way in and we really didn't spend much time in the canyon itself. |
