| no partners | | Woke up early and car already packed. Out the door. Drive in under sort of gloomy skies with the sun peaking thru at times then socked away later with clouds. A young buck deer down on the side of the road, however looked like a kill, not a fast driving part of the road for sure. Saw another buck, with a better rack, later, might have been the one I saw yesterday.
A very strange day. Better than expected, not as successful in the underground, the tunnels not at all friendly, and scary shafts. Many stone dwellings. Off trail yielded a wonderful find I protected. A small javelina at the bottom of a short pit, tried to help it out by building a rock bollard then left it a prickly pear. It seemed very weak and disoriented so I do not know if it will make it.
Some nice rock, area heavily reclaimed. Sweet views, even with the washed out light. A super day, a place I need to return to as it has many many secrets. |
