Spur Cross Trail
Tortuga Trail - Spur Cross

Did this with son and dog. Clockwise - west along Spur Cross Trail then up and over the saddle between Elephants head and trunk, then down the other side to Tortuga. Had read that finding the Elephant trail could be tough in spots but had no problems at all.

I really liked this hike - will be doing it more often. Maybe not once the overnight temps increase and snakes start waking - the boulder section down in a wash might be nasty.

ETA 2/8 - plotted geocodes for some photos, my first time using that - what a great feature!
edit 3/9 - while planning my next trip up here I realized that selected summit. Wrong, did not go up that leg, so corrected this log, route and photoset to trail. Hope to get time for summit soon.

still flowing, but barely. Saw two Mallards in the water just downstream from the crossing point.
