The trail starts at the south end of the parking lot at the very end of White Domes Road. We headed south on the trail, which, after a small rise the the beginning, goes downhill through a canyon. The trail surface is super fine sand, which is kind of neat, although it is a bit more of a workout than a harder surface would be. My kids loved the sand, although it can be a little slippery where the sand is drifting across the rocks. You'll reach the remains of an old movie set from the 60's and continue south just beyond the movie set, then turn west. Going west was my favorite part of the trail, you'll walk through a slot canyon, which I always like. Once out of the slot canyon, the trail turns north, then east again back to the parking lot. Almost every part of this trail had opportunities for great pictures. The entire park was fantastic, I can't wait to return to hike more of the trails. |
