I hadn't done this peak in a bit and it seemed like a nice option for a pit stop heading west. I love the scenery that the dense cholla field on the ridge provides along the way. We had a strong wind, which made those cholla even more of an adventure, and happy to have poofy coats for the summit break.

On the way down we beelined to the canal, crossing the wilderness wilderness boundary on the 14-15-22-23 corner, marked by a disc and a few shreds of the old aerial survey cross. The canal makes a good dam for a 40 foot deep lake. It's not full that often though.
