Most of the trail is pretty followable right now. There's lots of ribbons everywhere which is a little confusing. The first ones are red with black dots-- you can trust those. Then the yellow "Mogollon 100" ones take over-- you can trust those. Then you get a slew of red ones with writing and some blue ones-- don't follow those. There are also a couple beer cans in trees and a leopard print bag-- all of those are trustworthy as well
Most of the day was pleasant but uneventful. I found a lost AZT thru-hiker. He had somehow overshot the Col. Devin by about 6 miles. He didn't want to backtrack so I warned him of the poorly marked scrambling and sent him up the Myrtle. He had also gotten lost somewhere on section 22, made his way to the 87, and restarted the trail at the Pine TH. He commented that he might invest in a Garmin after this adventure
Lily finally met a person she did not like. She's apparently not into trail runners. But then again-- who is? |
