| no partners | | I'm on the Green Mountain Falls trail group unfortunately both times I scheduled to work on this trail The work was snowed out. My new schedule for work puts me away every two weeks when they get together to work on trails. Anyway, although officially open the trail is not completed to the top of Dewey Mt., but should be completed by Aug. Sarrah was off today so we decided to check it out. Family turned around where the trail ended I went up the remainder of the old trail to the top. I'm sure this final section will be switch backed as it was almost impossible to get footing both up and down due to steepness. I've been told there used to be a trail up here that was closed due to private property, but the wealthy town benefactor recently purchased the property and donated it to GMF who promptly started a new trail. I saw on the way down that this connects to yet another trail that follows the ridgeline and comes out at North Catamount Reservoir. More local loop possibilities whoo whoo!. I will have to bring the nice camera with the telephoto as the entire Catamount Falls can be seen from the top as can be seen from the phone pics albeit poorly. It is south facing so I might have a snow free workout hill for the winter as well. Went to the pantry for lunch and they gave Micah duck bread for the road to feed the ducks when we went to the park. Great family day! |
