The engine that pulled us was built in 1927 and used by the Midland Railroad Company. I'm a little confused as to where this particular narrow guage engine was used as the Midland Railway company that went up Ute Pass through my back yard up through Divide, Leadville, and across the Continental Divide was standard guage, but the history of the area and mining was interesting. Tour Prices were $14 for adults $13 over 65 and $8 for 3-12. Jasper the engineer was nice enough to let Micah see the engine and give me an explanation of the how it works. It was a nice family atmosphere except when the wind was blowing the wrong way. |
