Relatively short, hot backpack into the Painted Desert area of Petrified Forest. The first half of Saturday was fairly cool, then the after got hot, then the night was windy and rainy. Morning was gorgeous but humid. I'd go back next weekend if it wasn't going to be in the 90s. Beautiful area worthy of weeks of exploration. If only there was water out there.
