| no partners | | | Nice hike but do not come for the solitude as you will find none. Arriving at the trailhead at 9am, we had to park along the road. When we left shortly after 3pm, we counted 20 cars in the parking lot and 66 along the road for a grand total of 86! That is just insane! Trails were in good condition and Island Lake is a nice destination. There were only 5 others at the lake during our lunch break and we enjoyed the views and crystal clear water. Not much in the way of berries or wildflowers although there were already some signs of fall foliage. |
