As we headed toward Wild Horse Trail, Roger wanted to do the Ridgeline he was observing to the West of us for our return trip back to the TH. ( Make it more exciting ) When we reached Wild Horse Trail we turned left and started up the 1st ridge, as we made our way up and across each hill it was very evident that not only was we following a bike trail, but a very old man made trail. A few areas would have been nice if we had our poles, but all in all not bad at all. We think this was maybe a pack trail to the various mines that were worked long ago ? So between Biker, Hiker and Wild Horse trails we worked our way across the Ridgeline to the Usery Peak 2972 Trail and back down to the TH. As we started back we noticed a group of little kids hiking in the distance, usually see one or two hikers at the most, but this was different, they just kept coming around the corners, stopped and visited with the Dad and found out he was taking his Family and I mean is whole Family for a hike up toward Usery Mountain and then back for Hotdogs near the TH, there we 79 Kids and Grandkids, I love to see families doing things together . |
