Headed out to the turnoff to the ruts and Tears Mine, but the state has the road blocked off, tried to find another way, but not being familial with the area, we headed back to the TH and started there. Got to the Ruins and met a group of Scouts camping down by the creek that was checking out the area, it's a wonder this is still available as a destination being so close to town and not destroyed by vandals. Headed up to the mine and picked up some Tears, maybe someone will make some jewelry for my LittleMsHiker ?? . Headed back to Arnett Creek and continued our hike, the trail thru the creek was a little hard to follow in places due to all the brush being washed around with all the heavy rain we've had, (or we had blinders on) missed our turn and ended up over on FR 4, followed that back around to our route and trudged back on the Snakiest trail around........ |
