| partners | | Time to get Rick off of Silly Mountain and Treasure Loop and show him the real Supers. Although he had been up to the Peralta Saddle, Flatiron and, while those are nice, Robbers Roost and the Cave Trail would just be the hike he needed to broaden his thirst for all the great hikes posted on HAZ. Water was still running as we went up to the Saddle, Had to watch where we stepped as there were spots of ice on the way to the Roost. Did some surfing and had lunch after we came out of the Roost and headed over to the Cave Trail. Came up on our Cairn Cave and sure was disappointed and of all the cairns knocked over I shook my head and left !!!! On the way down Bluff Springs we encountered a couple of hikers heading out, maybe a 1/2 mile or less from the TH, I noticed they had 1 bottle of water between them, I asked how far they were going, heading over to Weavers Needle and return or maybe a loop and come down Peralta was their response ( I about lost it, as they were having trouble making it as far as they had, out of shape ) They said that their son had plenty of water and was ahead of them ( we didn't see anyone after we turned onto BS Trl from Cave Trl ) I again cautioned them not to do anything they thought they couldn't do. Hope all turned out well..... Just another example of doing something your not prepared to do. I'll get off my Great Hike, Great Weather and Great Company |
