Ouch! Doesn't usually happen on powder days unless a tree or in this case rocks are involved. The warm temps and high winds have scoured the base out in my favorite haunt. I caught a rock between my bindings toeside during s transition on a 40+ degree slope it kicked me headfirst downhill and instead of bouncing all the way down the slope I landed on more large rocks. I'm pretty sure my wristguards saved both wrists which are a little tender. I banged both knees in particular my right. It tore my pants and as I found out after getting home it tore my long under wear as well and my knee. The impact was so hard it broke my chest strap on my pack as well. It's a little swollen and the cut is small, but deep and doesn't want to stop bleeding. I didn't bother looking at it on the slope and rode 3 more hours. So the knee of my long underwear was pretty saturated. BTW hydrogen peroxide cleans wounds, but also does a pretty good job of cleaning blood out of clothes as well who knew? About as packed as I've ever seen it on a weekday. Still managed to ride my secret stashes of powder all day despite main runs and the peak being tracked out before noon. Tomorrow Micah gets her first powder day as we got a solid 6-8 inches so the back yard ski hill is open for business.
