| no partners | | While in Vegas for a company retreat, one of the planned activity options was a hike--and of course I opted for that one! Original plan was to do Turtlehead Peak, but the temps and perceived fitness of a few of the folks in the group resulted in a decision to do something a bit less strenuous.
I was disappointed in the decision at first, but turned out to really enjoy the Calico Tanks area. Although the mileage was pretty short, the area packs a real punch in terms of fun. If scrambling around redrock sandstone is your thing, you'll enjoy this place. Lots of climbing opportunities (technical and otherwise), with views of Las Vegas and the surrounding mountains. |
