Man, what a GORGEOUS hike! It was super foggy and cloudy at some points, so I was literally IN the clouds (how appropriate while at the Lakes of the Clouds Hut ) It's a pretty surreal feeling walking through clouds and fog. When it's clear, that ridgeline offers some super intense views. Man I love the Whites.
Eisenhower is a very popular hike, so there were tons of people hanging out at that summit. Luckily it was our 1st one, so Tug and I took a pic and headed out to the ridgeline to hit Franklin and then Monroe. Once we saw the hut from atop Monroe, we just had to go check it out. This is what a good dog Tugger is - I had to go to the bathroom, so I put my pack down, told him to stay there next to it, and he never budged the whole time I was inside the hut. No leash. I love good dogs!!!!! As usual, he kicked my butt the entire hike, and didn't want to stop to drink in the views or take pics. He just wants to hike, hike, hike!!!! I swear that dog is an entirely different dog hiking up there. He's in his element. He must know how much his mommy loves it!!!!
I know it's a lot of photos, but I don't have time to edit them - that's why I never got any of my posting done, trying to edit too much! I don't know how you do it Angela! |
