| partners | | Another presidential day. This one is a big enough one on it's own though, that we just did one. And it's been so long since I've done it, I had totally forgotten about the sharp moon rock (way sharper than on Washington!) that comprises the last mile and a half or so of the hike to the top. Tug did fine going up, surprisingly, but on the way down, I had to carry him for a ways. I didn't want him cutting up his paw pads, poor guy. It's REALLY hard carrying a 37 lb dog and trying to maneuver those loose, sharp rocks! There is no set path, and a lot of them are loose. Needless to say, it took us a WHILE to get past that part on the way down. It was another rare super clear day atop Washington, so we could see everything from the top of Adams. Super nice views of the presi range and Washington. You could see the cog railway from this side too, so that was cool. Pretty busy at the top, but nobody took the route we did, so yay!
I won't be doing that one again with poor Tugs! |
