Easily accessible 2 miles of dirt road with my Honda Accord to the trailhead.
About a short 1/2 mile level hike to the mouth of the Canyon. Panels on both north and south sides. Few hundred yards in, you come to a 10' dryfall...it was easier for me to climb up and around the north side of the canyon bypassing this fall, but I didn't explore too much past that since Val stayed behind.
I spent most of my time climbing in and around looking for the rare find...next time (and I highly recommend) I will bring some binocs to search the varnished areas up and down the canyon before climbing up and finding nothing!!
As well, I'd like to hike all the way to Moss Spring...I'll be back to this area another day; hopefully, in February, it was PERFECT!!! |
