| no partners | | Decided to take a stroll from Peralta trailhead, arrived about 0930 am , a couple of parking spots were left.About 58 degrees and windy at the start , proceeded to Lost Dutchman trail and then Coffee Flat trail. A couple of campers between Barkley basin and Reeds water. Arrived at Reeds water in good time averaging a little under 3 mph. The huge Saguaro remains but did not get a picture. Went by the turn for Randolph canyon and coffee flat trail crossed the water continued on south along the Whitlow canyon water flow. This time of year fascinating to see all the flowing water will try to post some pictures. Continued to follow the water crossing over 3 to 4 times, slow going staying on cattle paths and avoiding cow pies and catclaw. Saw a few cows but no wildlife. Finally reached a 4wd road that continued south until deciding to return to have some daylight left. Some patches of Mexican poppies in Barkley basin, also some lupine, globe mallow, bottle brush. Other than the campers saw no one else on coffee flat trail. On return to the trailhead was about 70 degrees and the lot was almost cleared out. |
