| no partners | | It was around noon time on Tuesday, Feb 28 that the sky's got very dark over the Superstitions and I could hear thunder off in the distance. For several minutes, at my home in Apache Junction, it rained fairly hard and we had small hail embedded so when the clouds finally parted, I could see patches of white on top of the mountain above the Flat Iron. I grabbed my camera and drove over to the intersection of Broadway and Goldfield where I could get a better view of the summit, and sure enough there was still left-over hail up there.
I drove on around to First Water Trail, parked and went for a walk on one of the many trails leading towards the mountain. There were no signs of the hail but the paths were wet enough to have puddles along the way. I glanced over towards the Goldfields and I could see another storm heading my way so I headed back to my truck and as soon as I got inside, it began to rain again.

On every trip into the Superstitions, I find another Gold Mine. Today the mine was filled with Memories. I can not wait for the next trip. |
