| no partners | | | A quick weekend trip to California must include a hike right? This mount Hollywood hike started at Griffith Observatory. There is a trail head at the back of the parking lot with good signage of the trails. The route here was up to Mt Hollywood Summit. there is a large network of trails here, mostly fire roads, but there are several ways to get to the summit. We chose what I believe is the most direct. Majority of the hike was done on the Charlie Turner Trail. this takes you past Dante's View. After reviewing the trail later, you can make a loop at the top if you want to come back another way, back just came back the same way. At the summit, you have excellent views of Los Angeles, Giffith Observatory, and the Hollywood Sign. Good little hike, came out to 3.3 round trip with a little straying from the route here and there. Many wildflowers this time of year. |
