| no partners | | | Decided to go check out Hackberry Spring this past weekend. Turned out to be a perfect weekend for a desert hike, awesome weather and with the recent rains, all was green and plenty of water flowing. The route we took; Headed out from 1st water trail head, crossed garden valley, and went around the back of the mountain there to get to Hackberry spring. Enjoyed all the water in first water creek. Had some help from other hikers as to the exact location of the Spring. The way back, headed away from the spring following first water creek. We passed the exit to the horse lot, and also the exit that goes back to garden valley. We continued through the narrow canyon with the creek until we got to the old ranch. From there we brought the old road from the ranch back to the main road and back to first water. This route was 5.41 miles Good times. |
