New years day hike! We new we wanted to hike the Superstitions New Years day as this has become our tradition the last few years. Originally we had some longer hikes in mind, but given that it was planning to rain on and off most of the day we went with a shorter one. Did not disappoint. Not the first time on this trail, but the first time in the rain. The clouds rolling over the mountain tops were a nice touch. Everything was nice and green, and the water was flowing pretty good. The rocks were a bit slick, but we were still able to climb around. The cold and rain also kept the crowds away, the last time out here it looked like slide rock, not today. We saw 4 people while out there. There were more coming in as we were on our way back, I think we timed that about right.
This also wrapped up our 52 hike challenge in 1 year, that was fun.
