Mike, Nora, and I did an early morning loop hike in McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Starting from the Horse Staging Area, our loop incorporated sections of the Technical Loop, Stoneman Wash, Pemberton, Tonto Tank, and Shallmo Wash trails. We hiked in several other unnamed washes too.

The desert is a good deal drier and browner than it was just a few weeks ago. We still saw some wildflowers, but they are not nearly as abundant as they were just two weeks ago. We saw a few saguaro and buckhorn cholla blooms though.
