Starting from the Trailhead Staging Area, I did a six mile loop: Pemberton, Scenic, Cinch, Escondido, Shallmo Wash, and Pemberton.

When I started at 6am, the temperature was in the mid to upper eighties. It was in the low nineties when I finished. It felt hotter than I expected it to feel for such mild conditions. Clearly, I need to work on acclimation.

I saw a snake and several cyclists along the way. One of them told me that he had seen a Gila monster earlier in his ride - wish I could have seen that.
