The kids stopped in a few places to play in the water, but it was pretty windy, so they got chilled quickly. When we reached Carnero Creek at the south end of the lake, Wyatt took one look at it and announced that he was not stepping foot in that water to cross since it was full of cow poop. And he was right, it was more poop than mud. My husband immediately denied any parental responsibility for said child, so I took off my shoes and carried Wyatt across--immediately smashing my foot into a rock and busting a toe. My husband helpfully got some pictures of me falling into the water (Wyatt miraculously stayed dry); I thought about throwing his phone into the lake, but was more preoccupied with getting myself and Reagan free of all the cow poop. She was the only one who didn't whine for the entire two miles. |
