| partners | | We got started around 7:30 and headed up the Super Trail. This was all new territory for Whitney, and I figured she would like the more gradual incline on Super more than the steeper Old Baldy. We took a short break just past Josephine Saddle, then continued on Super. Lots of prickly brush encroaching on the trail on the south side of Wrightson, but it wasn't bad enough to make me regret wearing shorts.
We took another break at Baldy Saddle, then headed up the last mile to Wrightson. Some girls told us the bugs up top were horrible, but they really weren't that bad--I've seen much worse. We took a break at the top, took plenty of pictures, then headed back down Old Baldy trail. No real breaks the entire way down, but the last mile was a little warm.
We saw several deer, one turkey, and lots of lizards, but not much else besides a bunch of birds; and since I don't really like birds, I don't really pay attention to them most of the time. Nice day, and it was good to get a decent hike in after a quiet hiking week. |
