| no partners | | Headed up to Flagstaff after work so I made a quick side trip to this little gem.
Forest Service labeled their sign at 1/4 mile from the locked gate to the pond but Route Scout clocked it in at exactly 0.48 miles.... 
I was finishing up taking photos quietly tucked away behind some fern when I heard a loud crashing from the hillside above and out of nowhere one lone cow elk went down to the shore and began to drink.
I managed to get a few clear photos of the memorable moment before she became aware of my presence and slowly scampered off and let out a few loud bugles once on the hilltop. |
