Mom wanted to do a typical dinner at La Fonda but I talked her into letting me take her for a hike.
She has lived in Flagstaff over 50 years but has only hiked in a handful of places in the area and I really wanted to show her the "backway" to the north side of the peaks considering it is so close to our house.
FR 425 is in excellent condition when it comes to dirt roads but according to my mother it was a bumpy and rather unpleasant ride :sweat: Just got to love a mom's point of view!

Only the second time I have hiked with my mom in probably 10 years so I certainly cherish and deeply appreciate the time we had and she is now able to tell her friends and family she has hiked a tiny portion of the official Arizona Trail and come to think of it this was my first time also, considering well established trails are not usually my forte.
