| no partners | | We went out to find ye ole Davis Route. Found it.
But spent a good chunk of time exploring the rim south of there and out to Naji Point.
That was a beautiful area! I love getting off trail on our north rim plateaus!
A Navajo archeologist friend of mine told me:
- "Natchi (Naa chi) in Navajo means "get out of the way!""
Natchi can mean "get out of the way" Naa ji can mean "forward or in front of"
probably both misspelled and mis pronounced, its probably referring to touristas trying to get in front for a good view. -
Very brushy jaunt through sharp pointy new Mexican locust trees to reach Davis Route and Naji Point but absolutely worth the solitude and stunning vistas! |
