| no partners | | | After Boundary Peak I had my sights set on White Mt Peak, so I headed down here and hiked this in the afternoon after I arrived. Crowded, as was the entire area including Bishop and the Owens Valley, which was also smoke filled, or choked really. With the smokey conditions and the coming wind forecast due to a cold front moving south, I skipped White Mountain Peak, and headed back towards Great Basin NP, instead. Enjoyable and scenic hike, lots of Bristlecone Pine, but I felt I had a better Bristlecone experience on my hike to Charleston Peak last month. Go figure. Still, it was relaxing and scenic, and the views were informational. Besides, I finally got here, even if I still skipped White Mountain Peak. It isn't going anywhere! My only regret, is skipping the drive up to the Schulmann grove, but I expected to do that the next day after the peak. Oh, well. |
