i wanted to do a hike, bobby wanted to see the peak, but not hike, so we drove down from pioneer pass so we could drive to pinal peak, then i hiked back down to our campground. not as much fall color as i've seen on other trails, since the trees are mainly oak and manzanita. one little area with some maple, but they were down the canyon from the trail. there are far worse ways to spend a saturday afternoon. saw no one and no critters along the trail, but lots of bear poo.
