i don't like urban hikes, especially in the valley. if it's too easy to get to it encourages random people, some who have never hiked before, to go there. also, the views suck. i don't like the city close up, or from a little farther away. maybe at night, with the twinkle lights... but this particular trail isn't available at night. i started at 6 am and the parking lot was packed. i left at 8:30 and there were still a lot of people out there, some just starting. it's too hot. i do this type of hike for one reason... fitness, and i'm really out of shape. this is a fairly easy hike, and i huffed and puffed on this urban hike so i will enjoy my out of town hikes more.
